Position: Raue Center School For The Arts Summer Camp OnStage – Music Director
Hours: Will be coordinated with the Director and Choreographer
Stipend: $800
Raue Center School For The Arts (RCSA) is excited to begin its summer education camp program and is
searching for a highly-organized, dynamic, imaginative, and reliable Music Director for the RCSA production
of Moana Jr. An ideal candidate should possess outstanding interpersonal abilities, collaborate effectively with
young artists, and be a team player. Alongside these fundamental skills and qualities, we are in need of a Music
Director candidate with the subsequent skills that would allow for demonstrating the following responsibilities:
Music Director Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead rehearsals with students to ensure that they are well-prepared for using
tracks to perform as well as being confident for the performances.
• Able to work with students ages 7 – 13 and all skill levels.
• Music Director will front load the rehearsal process for the students to smoothly transition to
using tracks.
• Teach students the necessary technique, and performance skills needed to be successful.
• Attend and oversee all music rehearsals, ensuring that students are learning and developing
their singing skills.
• Work collaboratively with creative team to create and enhance the vision of the team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills when teaching students the
music to the show.
• Once students have learned the music to the show, transitioned to tracks, the music director
will plan with the creative team to stop by at specific times to make sure the vocals are
continuing to develop and make any necessary fixes to music.
• Music Director will potentially share in some class exercises in collaboration with the director
and choreographer that is separate from the rehearsal process.
Important Moana Jr. dates:
• Auditions & Callbacks: Week of June 10, 2024 (Times are being finalized)
• Rehearsals: June 17 – July 24, 2024
o Monday – Thursday
o 9 AM – 1 PM is the camp program, but the Music Director position will not be needed every
day. Schedule will be coordinated with the Director and Choreographer.
• Performances: July 25 – July 27, 2024
