Colin Callender's Tony and Golden Globe award-winning production company Playground (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Lucky Guy) today announces its expansion into immersive theatre with its support of WITNESS, a new theatre company created and led by Artistic Director Michael Bontatibus, former creative executive at Playground. WITNESS's recent sold-out productions include Noirtown which premiered at the Rave Theatre Festival and was hailed by The New York Times as a?oeelectrifying,a?? Found Footage at Colonels Row on Governors Island, and The Visitation at the Wyckoff House, the oldest building in New York.

Hulu and Bleecker Street have partnered on a new output deal granting Hulu exclusive SVOD rights to all upcoming Bleecker Street theatrical films. The deal was negotiated by Andrew Karpen, Kent Sanderson and Avy Eschenasy on behalf of Bleecker Street.

Lights, camera, action! The Indy Film Fest presented by Indiana State University is back for another year. From May 2-12, hundreds of critics, film lovers and directors will flock to Newfields to view a host of films that represent the best in traditional and indie film from around the world. This year, film-goers will feel a strong sense of pride as multiple movies with Indiana ties headline the Fest.     First-Rate Flicks The Fest kicks off on Thursday, May 2 with the opening night dark thriller THEM THAT FOLLOW. Academy-award winning actress Olivia Coleman of THE FAVOURITE and Indiana-native Jim Gaffigan play characters inside a snake-handling church deep in Appalachia where the pastor's daughter is forced to confront the community's deadly tradition through a forbidden relationship.    WILD ROSE brings three chords and the truth as the awards night film on May 4. Moviegoers will tap their toes with Jessie Buckley as she plays a Scottish woman fresh out of prison and juggling her dead-end job, two children and a judgmental mother (played by Julie Walters) while trying to make it to Nashville to live out her dream of playing country music.   As the Indy Film Fest continues to grow in reputation, the film selection also grows in notoriety. On Friday, May 10, Indy Film Fest will host a special screening of YESTERDAY. Yesterday, everyone knew The Beatles. Today, only Jack remembers their songs. He's about to become a very big deal. From Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) and Richard Curtis (the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually and Notting Hill) comes a rock-n-roll comedy about music, dreams, friendship, and the long and winding road that leads to the love of your life. YESTERDAY is produced by Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Love Actually, About a Boy, the Bridget Jones series).   Then the Fest will close on May 11 with THE ART OF SELF DEFENSE, a dark comedy starring Hoosier Jesse Eisenberg. Eisenberg plays Casey, a man who is attacked at random on the street and enlists in a local karate dojo, led by a charismatic and mysterious sensei (Alessandro Nivola), in an effort to learn how to defend himself.   Following the opening night, awards night and closing night screenings, there will be after-parties for Fest members and ticket holders that feature a DJ, food, drinks and Sun King beer.    More to Come During the Fest, guests can enjoy more than 140 feature-length and short films from across the world. The variety of films ensures that attendees can find movies for every part of their imagination. One Hoosier Lens feature is KNIVES AND SKIN, a mystical teen noir that follows a young girl's disappearance in the rural Midwest written and directed by Indiana resident Jennifer Reeder.  Also featured are documentaries with Indiana ties: QUALIFIED tells the story of Janet Guthrie, the first woman to race in the Indianapolis 500, and the world premiere of GOOD MONSTERS which explores Indianapolis-based artist Eric Stine's struggle to understand how his life and work have been affected by his biracial heritage and estranged father.  Monday May 6 will also include a special program of shorts filmed in Indiana. The entire Indy Film Fest lineup is available today at www.indyfilmfest.org.  Submissions for the 2020 Fest will open in June 2019.   But Until Then… The best way to get access to these films is to become an Indy Film Fest Member. The fourth annual FilmTwo Initiative launches today in LA to support the career sustainability of thirteen artists developing their second features. FilmTwo encompasses two days of focused programming, including a writing workshop (led by Joan Tewkesbury), industry mentoring sessions, and one-on-one story meetings, kicking off a year of tailored creative and tactical support as part of the Institute's continuum of support for artists at key inflection points in their careers. The FilmTwo Initiative is supported by Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.

Leslie Odom Jr. is set to star in The Many Saints Of Newark, the prequel film to the hit HBO series The Sopranos, according to Deadline.

The son of the late James Gandolfini, Michael Gandolfini, will play the young Tony Soprano in 'The Sopranos' prequel movie, according to Variety.

The UK's leading film critics today announced the nominations for the 39th annual London Critics' Circle Film Awards presented by Dover Street Entertainment. Yorgos Lanthimos' black comedy The Favourite was out front with 10 nominations, including Film, Director, Screenwriter, Actress for Olivia Colman and Supporting Actress for Rachel Weisz. In addition, the film is nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year.

According to Variety, Stoll and Billy Magnussen will join the cast of the “The Sopranos” movie prequel, “The Many Saints of Newark.”

Jon Bernthal and Vera Farmiga have joined the cast of the prequel movie to the HBO series “The Sopranos,” according to Variety. The New Line prequel is titled “The Many Saints of Newark.” 

Sources tell Variety that Alessandro Nivola is in talks to star as Dickey Moltisanti in "The Many Saints of Newark," the 'Sopranos' prequel film, according to Variety.

Alessandro Nivola, Julianne Nicholson, and Johnny Knoxville star in this haunting drama of a man, living on the margins of society, who suddenly finds himself responsible for a ten year-old son whom he hasn't seen since infancy.  An alienated loner who can barely take care of himself, he struggles to forge a relationship with this lonely, at-risk child.

dick clark productions announced today that critically-acclaimed actors Timothée Chalamet and Rachel Weisz will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actor Award” and “Hollywood Supporting Actress Award” respectively, at the 22nd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards.”  Chalamet will be honored for his exquisite work in Amazon Studio's Beautiful Boy, while Weisz will be recognized for her role in Fox Searchlight's The Favourite, a festival breakout.  They join previously announced honoree Nicole Kidman, who will receive this year's “Hollywood Career Achievement Award.”  The 22nd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards” will take place on Sunday, November 4 at The Beverly Hilton.

Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg are set to star in VIVARIUM, a science-fiction thriller directed by Lorcan Finnegan. XYZ Films will be selling the film in Cannes ahead of a July start of production in Ireland.

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced the winners of the two Audience Awards - the audience choice for best narrative and documentary feature films - sponsored by AT&T. To Dust, written and directed by Shawn Snyder, was honored with the Narrative award and United Skates, directed by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown, was given the Documentary award. Each award comes with a cash prize of $10,000.
