WEST SIDE STORY - Kidz Theater

Kidz Theater is a training ground for young performers. We work with exceptionally talented young people who often have professional credits, including Broadway. However, experience is not as important as ability and a professional attitude. All of our performers share passion, drive, talent and a positive attitude. These talented young people come to Kidz Theater to develop and fine tune their theatrical skills. As a result, Kidz Theater performers are accepted to top musical theater programs upon graduation from high school.

KIDZ THEATER TESTIMONIALS:

“It is hard for me to separate my experience at Kidz Theater from my experience in professional theater because the level of commitment and passion is equal in both arenas. If you are looking for a place to cultivate your abilities among some of the most talented youth that NYC has to offer, Kidz Theater is the place for you. It is a place to learn, grow, and perform at a level of incredible quality and sophistication.”

-Ben Platt, Former KT Performer, “The Book of Mormon” (Broadway) , “Pitch Perfect”

“I can truly say that Kidz Theater played a leading role in helping me get into the Performing Arts College of my choice. Not only did I learn how to be a poised and professional performer, but it helped cultivate a strong work ethic and a maturity which carried me through high school and continues to help me in college. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

-Casey Wenger-Schulman, Former KT Performer, The College Conservatory of Music at The University of Cincinnati – Musical Theater Program 2017

“After ‘The Color Purple’ closed on Broadway, and Jenny got too tall to be cast in another show, you say ‘what now?” She loves theater more than anything, so we had to find a platform that let her do what she loves at a high level. Thanks to Kidz Theater, she is able to do that for free. Kristen and the rest of the staff have taught her so much; theater skills, how to research a role, how to dig deeper, and how to organize a showcase. She has learned so many things from people that she loves to hang out with. They literally became her second family.”

- Caro Mollet, Mother of Jenny Mollet, Broadway Cast Member, “The Color Purple,” and current Kidz Theater Performer
