THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR - Fury Theatre

Fury Theatre is holding auditions for William Shakespeare’s THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR for our third annual Bard in the Park production. After producing A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the grounds of Chippewa Park and Much Ado About Nothing at beautiful lakefront Berger Park, Fury is bringing the works of the Bard to the scenic grounds of historic Indian Boundary Park this June. The Merry Wives of Windsor has been recognized as Shakespeare’s most middle-class play, and one of his most farcical!


All roles save “Pistol” are up for casting. Some will be considered for cross-gender casting.

Sir John Falstaff – 30-40’s
Bardolph, Pistol, Nym, (Followers of Falstaff) – 20-40’s
Robin, page to Falstaff. – Teens -20’s
Messrs. Ford & Page, two Gentlemen dwelling at Windsor. – 30-40’s
Sir Hugh Evans, a Welsh Parson – 30-40’s
Doctor Caius, a French Physician. – 20-40’s
Rugby, a Servant to Doctor Caius. -20’s
Mistress Quickly, Servant to Doctor Caius. – 20-30’s
Shallow, a Country Justice. -30-40’s
Slender, Cousin to Shallow. -20-30’s
Simple, Servant to Slender. -20’s
Fenton, a young Gentleman.- 20’s
The Host of the Garter Inn. -30-50’s
Mistress Ford – 30-40’s
Mistress Page – 30-40’s
Anne Page, Mistress Page's daughter, in love with Fenton. -20’s

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will start mid April. We will rehearse about 16 hours a week (4 to 5 days a week). The show will run for 4 weeks in June - Friday, Sat night, Sat and Sunday matinees (4 shows a week)

Audition Dates:
Saturday, March 15th - 12 noon-4pm
Sunday, March 16th – 12 noon to 4pm

Callback Dates:
Monday, March 17th 7-9:30pm
Tuesday, March 18th 7-9:30pm

Pay:
Actors will participate in profit share.
Auditions will be Saturday, March 15th from 12-4pm and Sunday March 16th from 12-4pm.

Materials to Prepare:
Please prepare a 2-minute Shakespearean (or classical) COMIC piece.
