The Philharmonic Center for the Arts Presents ANYTHING GOES, 3/5-10

The Philharmonic Center for the Arts will present the national tour of Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes, the Broadway revival of Cole Porter's timeless classic, Tuesday through Friday, March 5 - 8 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Winner of three 2011 Tony Awards-for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Choreography and Best Musical Theatre Album-Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes tells the story of lovers, liars and clowns aboard the transatlantic cruise ship the S.S. American. As they head out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely couples set off on the course to true love... proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.

Bursting with the most hummable, most danceable Cole Porter tunes of all time- I Get a Kick Out of You, It's De-Lovely, You're the Top, Friendship and, of course, the show-stopper, Anything Goes-Anything Goes is among the greatest madcap musicals in theater history. The Roundabout Theatre Company's touring cast includes versatile Orlando-born and award-winning actress, singer, dancer and comedienne Rachel York as Reno Sweeney. Best known for her critically acclaimed Broadway performances in City of Angels, LES MISERABLES, Victor/Victoria (Drama Desk Award), The Scarlet Pimpernel, Sly Fox, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, York also turned heads on television with her courageous portrayal of Lucille Ball in the CBS movie, Lucy.

The beloved musical comedy has won praise from all quarters: The New York Times called it "a zesty new revival with knockout numbers and white-hot dancing," AP wrote, "so delightful, so delicious, so de-lovely," Variety called it "a daffy, shipshape romp!" and The New Yorker gushed, "Anything Goes is from the golden age of musical comedy, a genre that is doggedly committed to manufacturing joy." And The New Yorker went on to say, "I challenge you to find a natural high...greater than the first-act finale of Anything Goes, a giddy layer cake of tap-dancing sailors atop droll Cole Porter lyrics."

Director/choreographer Kathleen Marshal received a 2011 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Award for choreography and Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics nominations for direction for Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes revival. The production's artistic director, Todd Haimes, was most recently represented across the country with the critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning national tour of Twelve Angry Men.

Now in its 46th season, Roundabout has become one of New York City's most accomplished cultural institutions and one of the country's largest not-for-profit theatre companies. With four theatres both on Broadway and off, Roundabout reaches over 600,000 theater goers annually. Roundabout also programs the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where the 2011 Tony Award winning production of Anything Goes currently plays. Since moving to Broadway 20 years ago, Roundabout productions have received 177 Tony nominations, 163 Drama Desk nominations and 187 Outer Critics Circle nominations.
